[ roy is Not Good (tm) at a lot of things, but he is good at people. he is also good at working underneath an immense amount of pressure, and thinking quickly, and compartmentalizing to get to the greater good. so he, too, felt a twist in his stomach at the announcement -- but he shoved it aside, to focus on what was more important, which was getting the people he cares about out.
